JEE/NEET 2020 may be postponed to be organised in September,2020
As a written letter to Hon’ble Minister of Education, Govt. of India by INSO National President Digvijay Singh Chautala in his letter has demanded to postponed the NEET/JEE 2020 Exam due to outbreak of pandemic COVID-19 throughout the country.

Covid-19 pandemic has hit the student community of the nation very hard as it has not only affected them physically but also mentally. The rate of increase of COVID-19 cases in India has reached approximately 70,000 per day.
Number of applicants for JEE/NEET Exams are approximately 1.5 million.Transportation facilities have not restarted in full swing throughout the nation. Indian Railway has also decided to suspend its operations till end of September.
On the one hand, students are facing lack of transport facilities to reach their exam centres, and on the other hand lakhs of students will be under direct threat of contracting COVID-19 by coming out of their homes in such large numbers.
In the exams conducted till now where the number of applicants was comparatively very less and a large number of students have fell prey to COVID-19. The current time of the year is also a season of tropical and vector borne diseases where the chances of spread of infections is very high. After the green signal to conduct these examination by Supreme Court of India, many students have committed suicide in different parts of country.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has also written to Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ demanding postponement of NEET 2020 and JEE Main 2020 exams.
Earlier West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and DMK president MK Stalin had urged the Centre Govt. to postpone NEET, JEE 2020.
On the other hand, Mamata had written a letter to PM Modi to postpone the exams that are scheduled to be held in September, 2020. In her letter, Mamata said that the directive from the Education Ministry to hold the NEET, JEE Main 2020 in September is a gravely risky decision.
“We are proud of our students. They are talented in these areas. On the one hand, COVID-19 pandemic is going on and the student community on the other hand is suffering a lot from mental agony and depression,” she added.

Delhi Deputy C.M Manish Sisodia also appealed to cancel the NEET/JEE 2020 Exam
He said “I appeal to the centre to immediately cancel both exams and make alternative arrangements for admission this year. The central government is playing with the lives of lakhs of students in the name of JEE-NEET.
About JEE Exam:
The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Main) to the NTA from 2019 onwards.
Admission criteria to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTI), Institutions funded by participating State Governments, and other Institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/equivalent qualifying Examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). The (B. E. /B. Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programs offered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs).
About NEET Exam:
NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) 2020 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognized Medical/Dental & other Colleges/ Institutes in India.
Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 provides for holding of a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions including those governed under any other law. Thus, the admission to MBBS course in AIIMS, New Delhi, JIPMER and all AIIMS like Institutions will be made through NEET.
Thus we can say the COVID-19 Pandemic has put lot of pressure on the students as well as the Govt. whether to conduct the Exam or not. Lets finger crossed and wait for some days and wait for final official decision on NEET-2020 & JEE-2020 Postponement.
